Pret love

I love Pret a Manger and I’m not afraid to say so. I love their sushi, but I’ve always worried about using throw-away wooden chopsticks. My two years spent living in Japan and hearing the horrifying stats about how many trees were chopped down annually to satisfy that nation’s desire for fresh new chopsticks at every restaurant sitting left their mark. Whether or not the numbers were true it still kept me awake at night.

I was truly excited when I unpacked my Pret sushi yesterday to find some dinky kaleidoscopic chopsticks that appear to be reusable. I hope everyone will do what I did, wipe them after use and carry them around to use again. OK, that’s not quite 100% hygienic, but a quick rub down and a little carrying case, and they’re a perfect guilt-free travelling companion. Now a Pret branded chopstick carrying case would really be the icing on the cake.
