I was at our client Adconion’s gorgeous new offices on Portland Street this afternoon and saw one of the best examples of branded utility I’ve come across.

On the walls on either side of the lifts were small digital screens with rolling news stories, but best of all, an update on the Tube lines. All courtesy of Savills, who I guess manages the building. How cool yet so blindingly simple is that? While an iPhone will do the same job, here the information is staring me in the face. It requires no effort on my part but could mean that I know to take a different route to my next meeting and avoid a Tube melt-down.
